چکیده
In treating of so many-sided a subject as the pathology of cerebral disease it is impossible to adopt any definite systematic arrangement, or to adhere to one particular plan of discussing the questions which present themselves to notice. The morbid phenomena of the brain involve so many derangements in other organs and tissues of the body, and, vice versa, the derangements of the latter so often induce serious cerebral symptoms, that remarks become necessarily discursive, and nosological classification is practically impossible. As in many other branches of medical inquiry, too, so especially in that relating to cerebral disease, opinions are continually changing, although clinical facts and pathological appearances remain the same, and the interpretation of the two latter is varied almost to infinity according to the light in which the same conditions are viewed

Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare cancer that confined to the brain, spinal cord, leptomeninges and eyes. The origin of this type of lymphoma is often type B lymphocytes, and because the central nervous system (CNS) has no lymph nodes or lymphatic vessels, the cause of PCNSL is still uncertain (1). But its source appears to be from lymphocytes located in the CNS (2). Thi...
متن کاملPrognostic Value of Lymph Node Ratio in comparison to Lymph Node Metastases in Stage III Colon Cancer
Background & Objectives: Colon cancer is currently of high incidence and mortality rate. Identifying the factors influencing its prognosis can be very beneficial to its clinical treatment. Recent studies have shown that lymph nodes ratio can be considered as an important prognostic factor. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of this factor on the prognosis of the ...

Transgenic mice over-expressing mutant human amyloid precursor protein (PDAPP mouse) develop several Alzheimer’s disease (AD)-like lesions including an age-related accumulation of amyloid-?-containing neuritic plaques. Although aged, heterozygous PDAPP mice also exhibit synaptic and glial cell changes, that is characteristic of AD pathology, no evidence of neurodegeneration has been observed. T...

A radioimmunoassay was assessed for its suitability for monitoring the blood and urinary concentrations of bleomycin entrapped within large unilamellar liposomes in patients receiving therapeutic doses of the drug. Bleomycin entrapped within liposomes was administered by direct intracerebral injection to three patients with grade III to IV cerebral gliomas, twice weekly for up to six weeks. No ...
